Ryan Reynolds has put the superhero suit away this week as he returns to comedy for new movie The Change Up.
This project sees him team up with fellow funnyman Jason Bateman as well as Leslie Mann and director David Dobkin.
So to celebrate the release of the movie we take a look at some of the comedy co-stars that Reynolds has teamed up with over the years.
- Jason Bateman: The Change Up
But this week it's Jason Bateman who he teams up with in The Change Up, his first comedy project in some time.
Growing up together, Mitch (Reynolds) and Dave (Bateman) were inseparable best friends, but as the years have passed they've slowly drifted apart.
While Dave is an overworked lawyer, husband and father of three, Mitch has remained a single, quasi-employed man-child who has never met a responsibility he liked.
To Mitch, Dave has it all: beautiful wife Jamie (Leslie Mann), kids who adore him and a high-paying job at a prestigious law firm.
To Dave, living Mitch's stress free life without obligation or consequence would be a dream come true.
Following a drunken night out together, Mitch and Dave's worlds are turned upside down when they wake up in each other's bodies and proceed to freak the &*#@ out.
Despite the freedom from their normal routines and habits, the guys soon discover that each other's lives are nowhere near as rosy as they once seemed.
- Sandra Bullock: The Proposal
Without a shadow of a doubt The Proposal was one of the greatest comedy movies of 2009 while the Reynolds/Bullock partnership was one of the best of all time.
They may not be dating in real life but on the big screen they sizzled as Reynolds took on the role of Andrew, the assistant to pushy boss Margaret.
Andrew is put in an impossible position when Margaret forces into an engagement so she isn't deported to her native Canada.
The Proposal is laugh out loud funny as Margaret & Andrew are forced to live a lie to friends and family - as well as convincing officials that there romance is for real.
The is an obvious chemistry between the pair and it's the central performances from both Reynolds and Bullock that make this movie so watchable and so memorable.
- Tara Reid: Van Wilder: Party Liaison
Hard to believe that Van Wilder: Party Liaison is almost a decade old, yes it was released way back in 2002.
Reynolds takes on the title character Wilder, who has been at college for seven years without ever trying to graduate - until he father stops paying his tuition.
Reid takes on the role of Gwen, a student journalist who is doing a piece on Wilder and his partying ways.
The pair banter well together in what is a movie full of gross out gags that should never be taken too seriously.
- Amy Smart: Just Friends
Reynolds returned to the comedy genre in 2005 when he took the lead role in Just Friends, which also starred Amy Smart.
While visiting his hometown during Christmas, a man comes face-to-face with his old high school crush whom he was best friends with -- a woman whose rejection of him turned him into a ferocious womanizer.
Reynolds' sarcastic humour goes well with Smart's charming personality as this movie has a little more heart than you would expect.
- Jesse Eisenberg & Kristen Stewart: Adventureland
Adventureland is a very sweet-natured character comedy that saw Reynolds team up with new young stars Jesse Eisenberg & Kristen Stewart.
Set in the summer of 1987 the movie follows a recent high school grad who takes a nowhere job at his local amusement park, only to find it's the perfect course to get him prepared for the real world.
This indie comedy deserved a lot more recognition that it received with understated and yet great performances from all of the cast.
Eisenberg and Stewart drive the movie forward but it's a great and flirty performance from Reynolds in a supporting role.
The Change Up is released 16th September
