Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne is undoubtedly, an international sensation. Born to a family of Scottish and Irish decent, the Australian beauty has created quite a name for herself, starring along side A-list actors such as Glen Close, Brad Pitt, and Nicholas Cage.

Her sheer talent and beauty was immediately recognized, despite the fact that she was only 12 years old at the time of her movie debut.

She co-stared in the quirky Australian comedy Dallas Doll and became an immediate success.  For the next few years, Rose appeared in a variety of Australian TV shows and soap operas, such as Echo Point and Heartbreak High.

However, it was the year 1999 that made her a true superstar. That year she was offered a co-starring role along side Heath Ledger in the movie Two Hands.

The movie was a hit by fans and critics alike and Rose Byrne became an Australian household name. It only took one year for her to be awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the premier Venice Film Festival. Soon, offers began to pile up.

Her first exposure to America was in George Lucus's Star Wars: Episode II : Attack of the Clones. Although her role was small, she entered Hollywood in a big way. Americans, just like Australians did years before, fell in love with the brunette bombshell.

She went on to star in the blockbuster hit movie, Troy and soon, alongside Josh Hartnett in Wicker Park. She refused to slow down and for the next few years she continued to act in a variety of movies including Marie Antoinette, Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later.

Today, Rose has many faces. Between the years of 2004-2005, she was the It girl for Max Factor and a huge supporter for UNISEF Australia. She also returned to TV, yet this time she was no longer going to be a supporting actor, she was going to be the star.

In FX's drama production Rose plays a young lawyer who is conflicted between her goals and her "hard-hitting, high stakes" boss, played by Glenn Close. The show and her performance has received an abundance of critical praise.

Her next movie, which audiences everywhere are eagerly awaiting, is the sci-fi action thriller Knowing, - released in cinemas on March 25th.
