Red Tails is a movie project that has been a labour of love for producer George Lucas as he wanted to bring the story of the first African American fighter squadron to the big screen.
The movie is written by John Ridley (Three Kings) and Aaron McGruder (The Boondocks) and sees Anthony Hemingway make his big screen directorial debut.
And we have some new clips from the movie ahead of it's release later this week:
Red Tails tells the tale of the heroic 332nd fighter group of the U.S. Army Air Corps who overcame racial discrimination to become one of the most distinguished squadrons in World War II.
The Tuskegee Airmen had not just the enemy to fight during World War II but also the other men that they served with as they were kept segregated and on the ground.
But they got their chance to fight for their country and their involvement in World War II proved to be a cultural milestone.
An all star cast has been brought together to tell a fictional account of this tale as Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Tristan Wilds are all on board.
Red Tails is released 6th June
