Described as one of the scariest films ever by critics and public alike, [REC] tells the story of a young TV reporter and her cameraman who are taping a real-life late night news programme when things go horribly wrong.
What appears to be a routine emergency call quickly turns to hell as the team are trapped inside a building with no means of escape as things go from worse to worse.
The only thing that matters is trying escape while capturing everything on camera. The horror [REC] will be released in cinemas nationwide on April 11, 2008.
[REC] premiered at leading genre festival, the 40th Sitges International Film Festival earlier this year where it won the prestigious Audience Award, as well as the Critics Award, Best Direction and Best Actress awards.
[REC] reunites horror directors Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza and secures their position as two of Spainâs masters of the genre.
This is Balagueroâs fifth work in the horror genre after The Nameless, Darkness, Fragile and To Let. [REC] is Paco Plazaâs third feature after Second Name, Romasanta and Xmas Tale.
[REC] stars a host of European talent including Javier Botet, Manuel Bronchud, Martha Carbonell, Claudia Font, Maria Lanau & Vincente Gil and is directed by Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza.
It is produced by Julio Fernández with Carlos Fernandez as executive producer. [REC] was written by Jaume Balaguero, Paco Plaza and Luiso Berdejo.
Starring: Manuela Velasco, Martha Carbonell, Pablo Rosso, Ferran Terraza, David Vert
REC is released 11 April.
