Despite launching his career at the age of eighteen, he is now thirty, its Milo Ventimiglias role as Peter Petrelli in Heroes that has catapulted him to worldwide fame. After studying Theatre arts for four years at UCLA the Californian born Ventimiglia moved into television with roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. In 2001 he landed the role of Jess Mariano in Gilmore Girls, where he stayed until 2004.Throughout 2005, while there was no television work, he landed some small roles in a string of movies including Cursed, Stay Alive and Rocky Balboa as Robert Balboa, Rockys son.But it is the role of Peter Petrelli in NBCs worldwide hit show Heroes that has made Ventimiglia a household name and face and changed the direction of his career.Season one of the show, which follows ordinary people who discover that they have extraordinary powers, was a hit making stars of the whole cast.
Season two however suffered at the hands of the critics and the general public in America. Only eleven of the planned twenty four episodes were filmed and aired, due to the writers strike.
What was to be the second half of season two will now become season three and filming is currently underway.
A string of movies roles have followed for Ventimiglia since the success of Heroes. Most recently he starred as medical student Ted Grey in Pathology.
Gifted med student Ted Grey (Milo Ventimiglia, Heroes) arrives at a major Washington, D.C., as an intern, where he is met with suspicion and resentment by the tightly knit group of fellow young pathologists-in-training.
Soon, though, Ted is accepted into their circle---where they each take turns committing a murder so that the others may prove their mettle by figuring out the cause of death and celebrate with drug-fuelled orgies among the dead bodies in the hospital.
Things change for Ted, though, when his law student fiancée, Gwen (Alyssa Milano), moves to the city and helps to scare him straight.
Soon, crazed Wallace Stevens-quoting leader Jake Gallo (Michael Weston) turns on Ted, putting both Ted's and Gwen's lives in serious jeopardy.
Currently in post production are The Chaos Theory and Game, which reunites Ventimiglia with Pathology writers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
He is set to join Laurence Fishburne and Matt Dillon in Armoured, expected to be released in 2009.
