2013 gets underway today and while there are some great movies on the horizon there are also some actors to keep an eye for as well.
Many of these guys have already made a name for themselves over the last couple of years but 2013 could be the year when we see their star rise even further.
- Eddie Redmayne
Eddie Redmayne is best known for his roles in Pillar of the Earth and My Week With Marilyn but he is really set to make his mark in the early part of the year.
And it is with the highly anticipated Les Miserables that he looks set to win over audiences as he takes on the role of Marius.
Directed by Tom Hooper the movie is an adaptation of the popular musical and sees Redmayne team up with Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe.
Redmayne has also be linked to roles in the sequel to The Amazing Spider Man and Guardians of the Galaxy.
- Nicholas Hoult
We all remember Nicholas Hoult as the young lad with the bad haircut from About A Boy but since then he has been doing very well for himself.
And 2013 is set to see that success continue with a string of movies in the pipeline.
First up is Warm Bodies - a bit of a Twilight replacement - which will see Hoult play a zombie who falls in love with a human.
Then he teams up with Ewan McGregor and Bill Nighy for Jack The Giant Slayer - which is director Bryan Singer's take on Jack and the Beanstalk.
He has also completed work on Mad Max: Fury Road and shooting on X-Men: Days of Future Past is expected to get underway early next year.
- Chris Hemsworth
We love Chris Hemsworth here at FemaleFirst and he has had a super successful 2012 with Snow White and the Huntsman, Cabin In The Woods and the box office smash Avengers Assemble.
And we are going to be seeing plenty of the actor into 2013 as he has several projects on the horizon.
Red Dawn has been released in America but we are waiting for it to hit the big screen here in the UK but Rush is a movie that you should all watch out for.
Directed by Ron Howard the movie is a bio-pic about Formula 1 champion Niki Lauda where Hemsworth will play his big rival James Hunt.
The actor will also be reprising the role of Thor at the back end of the year with Thor: The Dark World, the second standalone movie for the character.
Directed by Alan Taylor the story will be influenced by events that unfolded in Avengers Assemble.
He is also set to start work on Robopocalypse which is the next movie from Steven Spielberg.
- Henry Cavill
Henry Cavill has mixed and match TV work with movie roles over the last couple of years with the likes of The Tudors and Immortals under his belt.
But his star is well and truly set to rocket this summer as he takes over the role of Superman in Man of Steel.
The franchise is been given a complete overhaul by director Zack Snyder - David S Goyer has penned the screenplay while Christopher Nolan is serving as producer.
Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane are all also on the cast list and it is set to be a movie not to miss this summer.
Cavill has also been linked to The Great Wall and that is expected to shoot this year.
- Aidan Turner
Aidan Turner is an actor to keep an eye on after landing the role of Kili in The Hobbit trilogy.
An Unexpected Journey has already hit the big screen and we will be seeing him in The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again over the next two years.
And as if that wasn't enough he will also be in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones next summer.
The action/drama movie is being tipped as a possible replacement to Twilight and is based on the novel by Cassandra Clare.
Lena Headey, Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are all also on the cast list.
