The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight saw the return of the Batman franchise under Director Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale.

With Batman Begins being a hit, the pressure was on for the sequel to live up to the same high standards, but it didn’t disappoint and that why it’s the most iconic film for 2008.

The film follows on from Batman Begins with Batman fighting crime in Gotham City along with new D.A Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart).

With all the criminals struggling to commit crimes under the new law enforcement the joker unites the criminals for one big task: Kill the Batman.

Not only do we think that this is the best Batman film to date, but the late Heath Ledgers take on the joker (which saw him win an posthumous Oscar), is dark, deep and highly disturbing.

His performances undoubtedly comes in at a par and maybe exceeds that of Jack  Nicholson take on the joker in 1989 Batman film.

Dark Knight takes on the love triangle between Bruce, Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and Harvey Dent superbly and adds a different take on the comic franchises making sure not to alienate the true fans.

The Dark Knight is filmmaking at its best; the subject matter maybe dark and depressing, but once the credits begin to roll the film the action takes over and leaves the viewers breathless.
