A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas

The movie Bromance is something that we are seeing more and more on the big screen - and, lets face it, it is far more interesting than you standard boy meets girl relationship.

This week sees Harold and Kumar return to the big screen so we take a look at some out our favourite movie bromances over the years.

- Riggs and Murtaugh (Lethal Weapon)

Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) are two guys who really don't get on: one is a wild man the other a family man looking forward to his retirement.

However together they make one hell of a cop as they beat down the bad guys together in four great movies - while Riggs was welcomed into the Murtaugh family.

This relationship pushes all the movies forward and results in some great comedic moments. My personal favourite is when Murtaugh is sitting on the toilet that has been turned into a bomb.

- Seth and Evan (Superbad)

Superbad remains one of the best comedies of the last few years and it was the movie that shot Jonah Hill and Michael Cera to fame.

The movie follows the pair as there relationship is tested by the likes of girls, alcohol and of course sex.

But despite all these temptations that could ruin their friendship the pair remain true - the heart to heart towards the end of the movie being a particularly cute moment.

- Butch and Sundance (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid)

Butch and Sundance is the bromance to end all bromances - hard to believe that Paul Newman and Robert Redford were not the original choices to play these role; I know it's crazy!!

The movie's massive success and longevity is  largely down to the sizzling chemistry of Redford and Newman, with Newman was at his roguish best and Redford mixing sex appeal with danger.

The pair's greatest moment comes at the end of the movie when they are ready to take on the world together - despite the overwhelming odds.

- Sherlock Holmes & Dr Watson

One of the greatest bromances of all time comes in the form of Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson - a relationship that was really explored in the Guy Ritchie directed movie.

Played by Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law the relationship between the pair was more pivotal than ever before as it was put to the ultimate test... Watson getting engaged.

Holmes tries to be cool and calm about the whole thing while Watson pretends not to be interested in the case that Holmes is working on.

The greatest moment coming when Holmes dresses up as a doctor to check up on an injured Watson - now there is some man love for you!

- Mike Lowery & Marcus Burnett (Bad Boys)

No Bromance list would be complete without looking at the central relationship between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys.

Mike is a single woman loving man while Marcus is married with kids and responsibilities - both rather jealous of each other lives.

But whilst protecting a murder witness during a heroin case the pair see them taking on the roles of each other - pushing their friendship to the limit.

- Harold & Kumar

This week sees Harold & Kumar return to the big screen with a festive treat just in time for Christmas.

Kal Penn and John Cho are back in the Todd Strauss-Schulson directed movie as the pair find themselves in more trouble.

The pair cause a holiday fracas by inadvertently burning down Harold's father-in-law's prize Christmas tree.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas is released 9th December
