Jonah Hill may have kicked off his acting career in 2004 but it was 2006/2007, where he appeared in no fewer than nine movies, that he really made a name for himself as a comedy talent that we should all keep an eye one.
Over the next couple of years he has continued to work at a rapid rate and he is back on the big screen this week with Get Him To The Greek, which sees him team up with Russell Brand and rapper P.Diddy.
Hill began writing his own plays while he was still at college and began performance his work at the Black and White Bar in the East Village.
But they always say it's not what you know it's who you know after meeting Dustin Hoffman's children who introduced him to their father.
Hill auditioned for I Heart Huckabees, a part which he landed, and the rest, as they say, is history as he made his big screen debut back in 2004.
After working on I Heart Huckabees he met his manager Peter Principato, who introduced him to writer, director and producer Judd Apatow.
And it was an Apatow movie that he next starred in when he landed a role in THe Forty Year Old Virgin, and Hill became synonymous with Apatow projects.
Throughout 2006 he worked on movies such as Grandma's Boy, Click and Accepted as he built up his portfolio of work. But it was 2007 when he really caught everyone's eye.
He had a string of high profile projects kicking off with Knock Up, it opened at number two at the U.S. box office and was met very well by the critics.
It went on to gross over $219 million at the global box office, which was a great performance for a comedy movie. His other big movie of the year was Superbad, another Judd Apatow.
The movie show cased some of the brightest young comedy talent in Hollywood at the time as Hill was joined on screen by Michael Cera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
More critical and box office praise came the Hill's way as the film topped the box office and gained somewhat of a cult following.
Over the next couple of years Hill stayed with the comedy genre as he worked on projects such as Horton Hears A Who, lending his voice to the character of Tommy, and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
2009 was another successful year for the actor as he had a small, yet very funny, role in Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian before going on to work on Funny People, in which he starred alongside Adam Sandler, and The Invention of Lying with Ricky Gervais.
Hill has already topped the box office this year as he lent his voice to the character of Snotlout in How To Train Your Dragon and this week he is back.
Get Him To The Greek sees the return of Aldous Snow, character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, to the big screen before moving onto Cyrus, which reunites him with John C.Reilly.
He returns to animation at the end of the year with MegaMind and he is also set to star in the big screen remake of 21 Jump Street.
Get Him To The Greek is released 25th June
