The work was no different than the work we did with Jude. It was old-fashioned hard work. The misconception is that we trained a bunch of actors to have abs.
That couldn’t be further from the truth. We trained those guys to be real athletes. That is why the effect was so profound.
- And did the success that the movie 300 went on to enjoy have an impact on Gym Jones - did people come in wanting a physique like Gerard Butler?
If anything people wanted to be like Vincent Reagen. He made an incredible transformation. He was the one everyone spoke about.
- How did you get into the fitness industry in the first place?
I have always been working with people on some level regarding fitness and bettering themselves. I have been doing this longer than I remember.
I am humbled everyday to think that I have the opportunity and privilege to do something I really love.
- Keeping fit is a big part of many people’s lives so have you any tips for those who are just starting off down the road to getting fit?
There are no shortcuts and no secrets. You just need a strong work ethic and you need to be dedicated. Most people fail because they just don’t want to improve badly enough.
Everyone is capable of being great. Just give yourself a chance and don’t limit yourself.
- Finally what’s, next for you have you any more movie stars coming through your doors?
Right now we don’t. We manage things project by project. Right now we are doing a bunch of exciting things but nothing involving Hollywood.
That said when someone calls and needs assistance we will answer the phone.
Repo Men is released on DVD 23rd August.
