Award-winning film Laurence Anyways (Cert TBC) is set to hit the UK cinema screens on 30 November 2012, courtesy of Network Releasing.
Directed by Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan, this epic love story chronicles the relationship between a man and woman (Laurence and Fred) through the 1990s, in which time Laurence undergoes a gender change.
Thought-provoking and stylishly shot, the film also dazzles with outstanding music featuring artists including Fever Ray, The Cure, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and composer Craig Armstrong.
Laurence Anyways made its debut at Cannes Film Festival 2012, with the film’s leading actress Suzanne Clement winning the ‘Best Actress’ award in the Certain Regard category for her role as Laurence’s supporting girlfriend, Fred. The film also won the Queer Palm at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
Dolan’s epic relationship drama also stars French actor-musician Melvil Poupaud as Laurence (A Summer’s Tale) and Monia Chokri (Heartbeats).
Laurence Anyways is Dolan’s third film, following the award winning I Killed my Mother and stylish Heartbeats.
