Ok so this month we have got the likes of Terminator Salvation and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to look forward to but it's July releases that we are looking ahead to.
As we approach July the big blockbuster summer is well and truly underway as the likes of Harry Potter, Public Enemies and animation Ice Age 3 are all set to fight it out for box office supremacy.
It's been over twelve months since Johnny Depp graced the big screen, in Sweeney Todd if you are curious, and two year since we saw him in an exciting summer flick.
And it's a change of pace from Pirates, which really did the business at the box office despite mixed reviews, this time around as he takes on the role of real-life criminal John Dillinger.
Directed by Heat filmmaker Michael Mann Public Enemies follows the FBI's man hunt for John Dillinger, the legendary Depression era bank robber.
No one could stop Dillinger. No jail could hold him. His charm and audacious jailbreaks endeared him to almost everyone, from his girlfriend Billie Frechette (Cotillard), to an American public who had no sympathy for the banks that had plunged the country into the Depression.
And despite Dillinger being made public enemy by the FBI he was a hero to the public, a modern day Robin Hood.
The film hasn't even been released into cinemas yet and there are already whispers of Oscar success surrounding this movie, could Depp finally get his hands on a Best Actor gong?
It's hard to believe that when Ice Age was released back in 2002 no one eve imagined that it would have become the hit franchise that it is today.
But July sees Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs hit our screen as Manny, Diego and Sid all return for a third bite of the cherry.
Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while, maybe, finding true love); Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth, Sid the sloth gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs; and Diego the saber-toothed tiger wonders if he's growing too "soft" hanging with his pals.
On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna run amuck and meet a relentless, one-eyed, dino-hunting weasel named Buck...
Both Public Enemies and Ice Age 3 are released 3rd July.
Borat is just so 2006 darling... yes Sacha Baron Cohen is back causing more trouble and offence with his new movie Bruno.
This time, all eyes are on Bruno, a gay television reporter from Austria with a penchant for fashion, mesh vests and very tight lederhosen.
After wreaking havoc at Milan Fashion Week where he storms the catwalk at the Prada show, Bruno travels stateside to shock, befuddle and bemuse an unwitting American public.
He talks Sex and the City with a group of rugged, middle-aged huntsmen, attends an army training session in D&G underwear, adopts an African baby a la Brangelina and Madonna (and goes on a talk show to discuss it), and strips in front of former presidential candidate Ron Paul. Needless to say, Mr Paul is not amused - but comedy fans certainly will be.
Bruno is released 10th July.
But the big movie of the month has to go to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the penultimate movie in the boy wizard franchise.
Despite poor early reviews from fans who were lucky enough to catch an early screening the movie looks set to be another massive box office hit for the cast.
Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was.
Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching.
Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defences and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information.
Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is released 15th July.
Other movies to watch out for in July include comedy The Proposal, as Sandra Bullock returns to the big screen, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, which brings together John Travolta and Denzel Washington.
Also watch out for Land of the Lost with funnyman Will Ferrell and animation G-Force.
