Rosie (Michelle Pfeiffer), a 40-year-old producer on "You Go Girl", a show about rich black teens, spends her evenings thinking up 'street' dialogue and playing Barbies with her daughter, Izzie (Saoirse Ronan). But All that's about to change. The show is on the slide and Rosie's job is on the line. Izzie, meanwhile, has her own problems. Barbies are getting boring, her first period is on the horizon and she's in the agonies of her first crush, having fallen for a kid, Dylan (Rory Copus), in class who doesn't even know she exists. Rosie has been single for a year and has become resigned to her loveless work existence. There she meets breezy and talented Adam Perl (Paul Rudd) at a casting session. Throwing caution to the wind she agrees to go out on a date with the persistent actor. Adam just might be everything that Rosie needs and wants in her life. The only problem is the fact that he's eleven years younger...
