Honey 2

Honey 2

From the director of Honey comes the dance spectacular Honey 2 - where dancing wins the battles. Honey 2 is released at cinemas 10th June 2011.

The follow up to Universal’s film dance sensation, the legacy of legendary dancer and choreographer Honey Daniels lives on in spirited 17-year-old Maria Bennett (Katerina Graham).

After a brush with the law, Maria has returned to her gritty Bronx roots to rebuild her life with nothing but a talent for street dance and a burning ambition to prove herself.

Keeping on the straight and narrow means living with Honey’s mum Connie and holding down a job just to make ends meet.

But a rare night out at a local dance club gives Maria an opportunity to let loose with a joy and energy she had almost forgotten.  Maria’s raw talent and killer moves catch the eye of Brandon (Randy Wayne), a Rec Center volunteer, who invites her to help him transform a group of gifted but undisciplined dancers called the HDs.

Maria’s skills also attract the attention of her old boyfriend Luis (Christopher Martinez), the charismatic leader of the award-winning 718 dance crew, who hopes to lure her back into the street world she is trying to escape.

Seeing a chance at creating a new and meaningful life, Maria pours her heart and soul into dance and begins training the HDs to compete on the television dance competition 'Dance or Die' which means going up against the 718 and Luis. Like Honey before her, Maria rediscovers the thrill of dancing as she finds out who she truly is and where she belongs.

Honey 2 is the coming-of-age feel-good dance romance which is set to take this summer by storm. The film stars Katerina Graham (The Vampire Diaries), Saychelle Gabriel (The Last Airbender), Randy Wayne (True Blood), Aurdina Patridge (The Hills), Melissa Molinaro (The Pussycat Dolls Presents: The Search for the Next Doll) and Mario Lopez (Nip/Tuck, Saved By The Bell) - plus a special appearance of  ‘Happiness’ singer Alexis Jordan.

Choreographed by Rosero McCoy, who stars as one of the judges in Honey 2 and has worked for Usher, N*Sync and Beyonce, Honey 2 features sizzling dance sequences showcasing everything from salsa and jazz to b-boy and turfin' moves.

Along with killer dance moves there is an outstanding sound track to match including La Roux, Far East Movement and Estelle - get ready for sparks to fly as the beat heats up!
