Have you noticed how directors like nothing more than blowing up a famous landmark in their movies? And, I'm afraid, that with G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra it's no different.
Yes once again The Eiffel Tower comes crashing to the ground as it is destroyed by green ooze, it's a different way to go I'll give them that.
So here at FemaleFirst we took a look at the movies that have swooped in and destroyed France's most famous landmark.
And it all started back in 1953 and The War of Worlds as the alien invasion left the world cowering in fear.
Most of Paris is destroyed when the aliens decide that they don't want to be friendly and the tower can be seen in ruins at the end of the movie.
In 1965 the tower found itself under attack again in The Great Race. Professor Fate, played by Jack Lemmon misfires a cannon causing the tower to collapse.
The tower, as well as the city of Paris is threatened with destruction in 1980's Superman II. Terrorists have taken over the Eiffel Tower and are going to drop a hydrogen bomb if the French government don't meet their demands.
Only the Man of Steel can save them as he send the elevator, which is carrying the bomb, into space before it detonates. That was a very close one!
However the tower isn't as lucky in 1996 when the Martians in Tim Burton's Mars Attacks is destroyed during the invasion.
And just two years later the Eiffel Tower, and the city of Paris is under attack once more, but it's not from aliens, or the enemy but from space as a meteorite hits right in the middle of Paris destroying the city.
You can always rely on those who are to suppose to protect the planet to do exactly that right? Er wrong as Team America cause more damage than they solve.
When battling terrorists in the city the gun battle leads to the Eiffel Tower crashing down which destroys the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre, a good days work guys!
But it's not just Paris that has been targeted by Hollywood as the Empire State Building, the White House, Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore have all come crashing down over the years.
