Rocky successfully defended his tile on ten consecutive occasions.
Away from the ring Rocky courted, and eventually married, the painfully shy Adrian Pennino, sister of his best friend Paulie. And with Adrian by is side Rocky Balboa proved that he was not worthless.
Together they faced bad times including the deaths Balboa's trainer and friend Mickey Goldmill and Apollo Creed, killed in the ring by Ivan Drago.
But Balboa was diagnosed with brain damage, caused by his boxing, and was forced into retirement. Adrien died of ovarian cancer in 2002.
In the fifth Rocky movie a sixty year old Balboa enters the ring one last fight against Mason Dixon, a much younger fighter.
Despite losing the fight Balboa leaves the ring for the last time with the crowd on his side.
Villain - Alex Forrest
Fatal Attraction's Alex Forrest coined the term bunny boiler as well as scarring the shit out of a generation of male cinema goers.
Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) is a happily married man who embarks on a brief affair with Alex Forrest (Glenn Close).
When Dan ends the affair Alex's mental instability comes to the forefront and she begins to stalk Dan with excessive phone calls and persistent attempts to see him.
Even moving his family to a New York town doesn't stop Alex as she goes on to kill his daughter Ellen's rabbit, by boiling, and kidnapping Ellen herself, before returning her unharmed.
Alex sees Dan's wife Beth, who knows about the affair and possible pregnancy, as the obstacle between the two of them being together and decides to eliminate her.
She attacks Beth with a butcher's knife in the bathroom of the Gallagher's family home before Dan intervenes and seemingly drowns her.
But she emerges from the water welding the knife before she is shot by Beth.
Originally Forrest committed suicide at the end of the movie making it look like Dan had killed her and he was arrested.
For her performance Glenn Close was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award.
