2012 has been a massive year for the movie world, with more on-screen relationships than you could shake a stick at.
Some have been absolute gems, and some we wish had never seen the light of day, but here we take a look at our favourite pairings over the past year.
Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (The Hunger Games)
If you’ve not seen The Hunger Games by now, where have you been?! The slow build of a loving relationship between Katniss and Peeta is a joy to watch (in between the slayings of 22 innocent children and teenagers), but are they both as invested in this relationship as we’d like to think, or are they simply putting on a good show in order to stay alive and put a smile on the face of those in The Capitol?

Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle (The Dark Knight Rises)
Some of the best characters to ever come out of a comic book film adaptation have to be Christopher Nolan’s Batman and Catwoman, played by Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway. A mutual respect is shown between the characters throughout the film, even when they appear to be on opposing sides, making it extremely hard not to become one of the eager fans cheering them on to become more than just friends.

Edward Cullen and Bella Swan (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2)
Whether you love them or hate them, nobody can deny they are one of Hollywood’s greatest ever on-screen power couples. It’s a miracle they’ve both gotten through the relationship and ended up married, as they’re under the constant pressure of saving one another’s lives! Not to mention that pesky werewolf Jacob who’s relentless in his attempts at stealing Bella away for himself…

Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff (Avengers Assemble)
Hawkeye and Black Widow are two of the greatest forces to hit the screen, and the passion between the pair is obvious from the get-go, no matter how hard they may try to hide it. Whilst they might not be two of the most recognisable super heroes in the Avengers cast, they certainly do a good job of standing out from the rest, and each prove deserving of their own self-titled movies.

Bryan and Lenore (Taken 2)
Ok, so technically Bryan and Lenore are divorced when the Taken 2 frames start rolling, but this doesn’t stop them from making our list. The brave pair and their daughter seem to be under a constant threat of kidnap, torture and murder, but somehow they manage to pull it together and remain almost completely level-headed throughout due to the love they share for their family unit.
So, what do you think? Let us know if you agree with our list of favourite couples and if you think we’ve missed any out in the comments box below!
