If there is one British movie that I am really looking forward to this autumn then it is Great Expectations.
Mike Newell is such a great director and I can't wait to see his interpretation of this well known and often adapted story.
And with the release date creeping ever closer we have some new clips from the film for you to enjoy:
And it is a movie that everyone will be talking about over the next ten days or so as Great Expectations will close the BFI London Film Festival on 21st October.
Great Expectations is a great script and Newell is an experienced director but a movie is not complete without a cast - and boy is it a good one.
Newell has mixed a cast of youth and experience as the likes of Jeremy Irvine and Holliday Grainger star alongside Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes.
2012 has already been a great year for Irvine as he shot to everyone's attention in Steven Spielberg's War Horse.
And that success looks set to continue with Great Expectations as he takes on the central role of Pip.
Carter is the perfect choice as Miss Havisham while Fiennes, who has a busy autumn, takes on the role of Magwitch.
Young orphan Pip is given a chance to rise from his humble beginnings thanks to a mysterious benefactor.
Moving through London’s class ridden world as a gentleman, Pip uses his new found position to pursue the beautiful Estella; a spoilt heiress he’s loved since childhood.
Yet the shocking truth behind his great fortune will have devastating consequences for everything he holds dear.
Great Expectations is released 30th November.
