We have already talked about one lavish period movie this week and now we are going to look at another in the form of Great Expectations.
Great Expectations is one of the most adapted novels n both TV and film and this years sees Mike Newell bring his interpretation of the Charles Dickens classic to the big screen.
David Nicholls has adapted the novel into a great new screenplay and some fab British talent has been assembled.
Jeremy Irvine shot to fame at the beginning of the year for his performance in the uber-weepy War Horse and now he is back with another major lead role.
Yes Irvine has been cast in the central role of Pip while Holliday Grainger will play Estella.
The movie will follow humble orphan Pip who suddenly becomes a gentleman with the help of an unknown benefactor.
And this is very much a cast list of young and experience with the likes of Helena Bonham Carter on hand to play Miss Havisham while Ralhp Fiennes will play Magwitch.
The likes of Robbie Coltrane, Jason Flemyng, Sally Hawkins and David Williams make up the rest of the exciting cast list.
We have already seen some great images of Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham and there is a gothic feel to her character and costume that I am really looking forward to.
Brit filmmakers always seem always seem to have a knack of adapting these period dramas into fantastic movies and in the capable hands of Mike Newell I imagine that trend looks set to continue.
Great Expectations is released 30th November
