Gangster Squad is finally hitting the big screen this week as Paul Lieberman's book is given a Hollywood makeover.
The film sees Ruben Fleischer step into the gangster genre for the very first time as he moves away from the comedy projects that he is better known for.
And if you cannot wait until tomorrow to see the movie then we have some clips from the film to wet your appetite:
All I have talked about so far in 2013 is the number of great ensemble casts that will be hitting the big screen and Gangster Squad has another mouthwatering group of actors including Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
They are joined by Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie and Nick Nolte.
Gangster Squad is set to be one of the most visual movies of early 2013 as Fleischer bring 1940s and 50s L.A. to life.
Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and - if he has his way - every wire bet placed west of Chicago.
And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control.
It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.
It is a while since we have seen a gangster movie on the big screen and it promises to be one of the most exciting January movies.
Gangster Squad is released 10th January.
