The London Film Festival kicked off in fine style last night as George Clooney was in town for the premiere of his latest movie Fantastic Mr Fox.
Clooney was joined by Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman brought a piece of Hollywood to Leicester Square.
And while the movie has a whole host of American stars voicing the character, including Meryl Streep who missed the premiere through illness, the film was made in England.
Using stop motion animation, filmed at London's 3 Mills Studio, Roald Dahl's story comes to the big screen in dazzling style.
Mr and Mrs Fox live an idyllic home life with their son Ash and visiting young nephew Kristopherson. But after 12 years, the bucolic existence proves too much for Mr Fox's wild animal instincts.
Soon he slips back into his old ways as a sneaky chicken thief and in doing so, endangers not only his beloved family, but the whole animal community.
Trapped underground and with not enough food to go around, the animals band together to fight against the evil Farmers, Boggis, Bunce and Bean, who are determined to capture the audacious, fantastic Mr Fox at any cost.
Animation has been the big trend this year on the festival circuit with Up opening Cannes back in May and Fantastic Mr Fox really doesn't disappoint.
It's a very beautiful movie that continues the high quality trend that we have seen throughout the animation movies so far this year.
The film is already a hit with the critics and it will be one of the films that we will still be talking about when the festival closes.
Speaking to the Associated Press on the red carpet Clooney said: "I remember reading the script and saying to Wes, 'I love it, and I'm thrilled and excited to do it, but I don't know who will see it, because it's sort of made for grown-ups and it's sort of made for kids.'"
"He said, 'Don't worry about it. Let's just go out and make a movie and have some fun,' and I thought that's a great way to approach making a film."
With the London Film Festival now up and running there are over 300 films from almost 50 countries in the lineup with 15 being world premieres.
The London Film Festival runs 14 - 29 October.
Fantastic Mr Fox is released in UK 23rd October.
