Just twelve months shy of it's thirtieth anniversary Fame is back on the big screen having had twenty first century make over.
An updated version of the 1980 musical, the new movie once again centres on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts. So it's time to meet the class of 2009.

Denise is always trying to please everyone, especially her strict parents who see her at Julliard playing classical piano.
But that is not Denise's dream as she want to be in front of a microphone instead of behind a piano.
This leaves the young girl with a decision to make does she follow what her parents want or does she follow her own heart and dreams?
- Kevin - Paul McGill
No matter how hard he tries Kevin feels that he is never on par with the other dancers, he has to work twice as hard just to keep up with them.
But with graduation looming with good enough be enough to see him through.
- Alice - Kherington Payne
Alice seems to have everything she is rich, beautiful and a very talented dancer. If she want s something she gets it, so why should success and fame be any different?
But when she falls for a boy that her parents do not approve of she comes to discover that getting what you want is always so easy.
She too has a decision to make does she go with her heart or listen to her parents?
- Malik - Collins Penne
Malik is facing troubles of his own as life so far has been a struggle with a family that has struggled to make ends meet.
But school is his salvation it's a place where he can forget all about his troubles and loose himself in what he loves.
- Victor - Walter Perez
Victor's freestyle and laid back attitude doesn't go hand in hand with what his teachers had in mind for him.
Although he seems to breeze through everything his street smart attitude style isn't going to be enough to see him through this time.
- Jenny - Kay Panabaker
Jenny has talent and in her old school she was the by far and away the best actress.
But in New York she finds her confidence is ebbing away as she is surrounded by people who, like her, are bursting with talent.
She finds that she has to work extra hard to prove her worth andshow people that she is more than just a pretty face.
