Ned (Liev Schreiber) is having a hard time at home.
The arrival of his sick father-in-law (Brian Dennehy) is straining his marriage to Jeannie (Helen Hunt), and he's still getting used to raising an independent teenager (Ezra Miller).
He's having a hard time at work too. His job writing for a scandalous TV show headed by a shock-obsessed producer (Eddie Izzard) is unfulfilling, and late-night rewrites with a sexy coworker (Carla Gugino) are only complicating matters...
