Emma Watson is one of the biggest young names in Hollywood as she shot to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.
This week she is back on the big screen with a very different project as The Perks of Being A Wallflower is adapted into a movie.
So we take a look back over Watson's career to see how she has always mixed and matched her roles.
- The Harry Potter Series
Watson made her big screen debut back in 2001 when Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was adapted into a blockbuster movie.
At the age of eleven she was thrust into the spotlight with the role of Hermione having never acted professionally before.
Philosopher's Stone was a worldwide smash upon its release and so started a decade of Harry Potter movies.
The franchise came to a close last summer with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - and the series was the most successful of all time.

- Ballet Shoes
During the Harry Potter years Watson did little other acting work but she did move into the small screen in 2007 for Ballet Shoes.
The TV movie was an adaptation of the popular Noel Streatfeild novel and was the first none Potter acting project for Watson.
The actress teamed up with director Sandra Goldbacher as well as Yasmin Paige and Lucy Boynton.
Ballet Shoes was a movie about the hopes and dreams of a young woman and won over audiences as 5.7 million tuned in to watch it when it was aired on Boxing Day in 2007.

- The Tale of Despereaux
Watson has also stepped into the world of animation during her decade or so in the spotlight as she lent her voice to The Tale of Despereaux back in 2008.
Watson voiced the character of Princess Pea in the movie while Matthew Broderick and Dustin Hoffman were also involved.
The Tale of Despereaux was a change of pace and genre for the actress as she continued to try and vary her work outside of Potter.
The movie was a charming and beautifully animated film however it did struggle to win over all of the critics on its release.

- My Week With Marilyn
Last year the actress began her journey away from the Potter series as she took on a small role in My Week With Marilyn.
The movie was a big screen adaptation of the Colin Clark novel and saw Watson take on the role of Lucy.
Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh and Eddie Redmayne also starred in the movie was a fantastic tale of Marilyn Monroe during the time she spent filming The Prince and the Showgirl.
While Lucy was only a small part for Watson it saw her starting to move away from the role of Hermione.

- The Perks of Being A Wallflower
But The Perks of Being A Wallflower is the role that will really see her lose that 'Harry Potter actress' tag as the role of Sam is like nothing that she has ever done before.
Watson plays a damaged soul in the movie who is desperately trying to find herself during her time at high school.
The Perks of Being A Wallflower is a great coming of age tale that tackles some taboo subjects in a sensitive and not belittling way.
Emma Watson really strides out as an actress to keep an eye on with this role as she delivers a performance that we have never seen before.
And we are going to be seeing plenty of Watson on the big screen over the coming year or so as she has already completed work on The Bling Ring and The End of the World.
And the actress is currently filming Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic Noah which will see her star alongside Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins.
The Perks of Being A Wallflower is released 3rd October
