Steven Spielberg has a habit of discovering new talent whenever he brings a new movie to the big screen - and War Horse is no different as we are introduced to Jeremy Irvine.
Everyone keep your eyes on this guy as he looks set to be one of the big breakthrough performers of the year with a couple of big projects in 2012.
The first of those big projects is of course War Horse, which is already being met with critical acclaim where is screens.
The film marks Irvine's big screen debut as he tackles the leading character of Albert.
War Horse begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him.
When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets-British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter-before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man's Land
The film is an early favourite for the Best Picture Oscar but it's also set to send Irvine's star rocketing.
Prior to War Horse the only acting experience that Irivine had was playing Luke in TV series Life Bites.
But now he is swapping TV for the big screen as he has a host of cinema projects in the pipeline.
He has already completed work on Now Is Good, which sees him team up with Dakota Fanning.
It is set to be another emotional watch as the movie, which is based on the novel by Jenny Downham, follows a young girl dying from leukaemia who writes a list of things that she wants to do before she dies.
But the other big movie of the year that we will be seeing Irvine in is a new adaptation of Great Expectations - in which he is set to play Pip.
The movie is the latest project from Mike Newell and also stars Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes.
The Charles Dickens novel has been adapted for the big screen by David Nicholls and is set to be one of the period pieces of the year.
So while Jeremy Irvine is not a big acting name at the moment but by the end of 2012 his career should be flying.
War Horse is released 13th January
