As If I'm Not There
Samira (Natasha Petrovic) is a young schoolteacher in Sarajevo who takes a new job in a small village just as the Bosnian War is beginning, a decision that will forever alter her life.
When the village is taken over by soldiers, the men are executed while the women find themselves packed off to a remote warehouse in the Bosnian countryside.
Here, they are expected to work for their survival - the older women taking on the hard labour within the camp, while the younger are forced to keep the soldiers 'entertained'.
Samira soon learns the rules of the camp, and what she must do to survive, but it's only when she realises that surviving means more than simply staying alive that she finds the courage she needs to make a stand - something that may just save her life...
