52 Tuesdays is set to be a movie not to miss this week and is one of the must see indie film that will hit the big screen this August.
52 Tuesdays will mark the return of Sophie Hyde to the director's chair for what will be her first live action feature film. However, Hyde is no stranger to the director's chair with documentaries such as Life in Movement and short films already under her belt.
Hyde really is a director to watch out for over the next few years and I am excited to see what she delivers with 52 Tuesdays and in the future. 52 Tuesdays is a movie that is already winning over the critics - it screened at Sundance back in 2014 to acclaim - and we have a great new clip to share with you:
52 Tuesdays is a movie that was filmed in a very unconventional way; filming every Tuesday, only on a Tuesday for twelve months - just like the story.
Billie's journey to independence is accelerated when her mother reveals plans to gender transition, asks her to move out and live with her dad, and limits their time together to Tuesday afternoons.
We are going to be introduced to the acting talents of Tilda Cobham-Hervey and Del Herbert-Jane - who take on the central roles of Billie and James - and they are first time big screen actors.
The duo is also joined by Mario Späte, Beau Travis Williams, Imogen Archer, and Sam Althuizen.
Hyde went on to win the Directing Award at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. The movie also scooped the Crystal Bear gong at the Berlin International Film Festival.
This is a coming of age tale like no other and is set to be one of the most unique movies that will hit the big screen this summer. I have to say, it is a welcome break from all of the big budget blockbusters that have been coming our way in the last few weeks.
52 Tuesdays is released 7th August.
