The 2016 movie is about to get underway and while there are a whole host of great movies heading our way, there are some that we are really not looking forward to.

Finding Dory

Finding Dory

We take a closer look at some of the movies that really don't have us very excited at all. Are there any movies that you don't really want to see as we head into 2016?

- Finding Dory

I am a huge fan of Pixar and it is always exciting when a new movie is on the horizon - 2015 was a great year as we were treated to two movies for the first time. However, I really am not excited about Finding Dory.

We are going to have to wait until the summer until Finding Dory hits the big screen, but I was such a huge fan of Finding Nemo that I think that this is one that should have been left well alone.

I think that this is a movie that will make a lot of money at the box office but is this really a story that needed to be told? Finding Nemo ended so neatly and I would hate for that film to be tainted should this one not live up to the lofty expectations that we are all going to have for it.

Finding Dory does see Andrew Stanton back in the director's chair and he did steer Finding Nemo to critical and commercial success back in 2003. Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks are back as Dory and Marlin and will be joined on the cast list by Idris Elba, Dominic West, Diane Keaton, and Willem Dafoe.

I do hope that Finding Dory live up to the first film, but Finding Nemo really did set the bar incredibly high.

Finding Dory is released 29th July 2016.

- Zoolander 2

Have to admit, I have never been a fan of Zoolander and I am not quite sure what all of the fuss over the first film was about. For me, Zoolander was a movie that was neither funny nor entertaining.

However, ten years on and Zoolander 2 is set to hit the big screen and will see Ben Still back in the title role as he reunites with Owen Wilson - who reprises the role of Hansel. Stiller is also in the director's chair for the film.

The first trailer was released towards the end of this year and looked nothing more than a vehicle for a bunch of high-profile cameos.

Will Ferrell and Christine Taylor are back, while Penelope Cruz, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Kristen Wigg are some of the big new additions to the cast list.

Given that fans have been calling for a Zoolander sequel for many years, it looks like Zoolander 2 is going to be a success... but it will not be a movie that we will be queuing up to watch.

Zoolander 2 is released February 12th, 2016.

- Grimsby

Another comedy movie that we are not looking forward to comes in the form of Grimsby, which marks the return of Sacha Baron Cohen; he has penned the screenplay as well as taking on the central role of Norman 'Nobby' Grimsby.

Grimsby looks set to mix elements of action and comedy - I have to say, the first couple of trailers really do look awful. The film sees Louis Leterrier team up with Cohen for the first time as he returns to the director's chair for his first film since Now You See Me.

While an impressive cast has been assembled - Cohen will be joined by Mark Strong, Rebel Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Isla Fisher, Ian McShane, and Gabourey Sidibe.

I actually like Cohen as an actor, but it is these kind of roles that I really don't like him in. I thought he was terrific in Hugo, but movies such as Bruno and Borat are just awful.

I don't think Grimsby is going to be one of Cohen's biggest hits and I doubt that the great cast will be enough to save it.

Grimsby is released 10th March 2016.

- Alice Through The Looking Glass

Despite being a big Tim Burton fan, I was left feeling incredibly disappointed with Alice In Wonderland back in 2010. It was one of the biggest movie letdowns of the year - despite not being a fan, it was a massive hit and grossed over $1 billion at the global box office.

Six years on, and we will be returning to Wonderland with Alice Through The Looking Glass as the title character is called upon to save the Mad Hatter. However, it will be James Bobin who takes over the director's chair from Burton in what is his first film since Muppets Most Wanted last year.

Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp are back as Alice and the Mad Hatter, while Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, and Michael Sheen are just some of the other familiar names returning. There are some new additions to the cast list as Sacha Baron Cohen and Andrew Scott are also on board.

Having been left so disappointed and cold by Alice in Wonderland, I am not looking forward to this sequel at all. To be honest, without Tim Burton on board, this is perhaps a film project that should have been left alone.

Alice Through The Looking Glass is released 27th May 2016.

- Independence Day: Resurgence

Hard to believe, but it was back in 1996 when Independence Day hit the big screen - it remains one of the blockbusters movies that I really do love. After much talk about a sequel, we are going to see it released in the summer of next year.

While Independence Day: Resurgence does see original director Roland Emmerich back at the helm, it is a movie that I really am incredibly nervous about... I just can't see how it will ever be as good as the original.

For me, if you can't make a movie that at least equals the first, then it is a project that shouldn't really go ahead. And this is why I have my reservations about this film - I do hope that I will be wrong.

While Smith may not be returning, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are back as David Levinson and President Whitmore. Liam Hemsworth, Maika Monroe, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Sela Ward make up the cast list.

Independence Day grossed over $817 million at the global box office when it was released in 1996 - it remains to be seen if Independence Day: Resurgence can replicate that success.

Independence Day: Resurgence is released 24th June 2016.
