Despite the horrendous flooding across the UK, a scorching summer is still on the cards, and Kwik-Fit is concerned that rising temperatures will lead to rising tempers on Britains roads - after its research found that a quarter of motorists admitted to losing their rag in hot conditions.
The company believes that many of these motorists are suffering from so-called Air Con Anger as a result of ineffective in-car air-conditioning units. Indeed, latest research from Kwik-Fit found that up to 70% of in-car air con units are now overdue for a recharge.
Motorists might not realise that air-conditioning units can actually lose up to 30% of their gas every two years; others might well assume that recharging an air-con comes as part of a basic car service.
Well I certainly did not know this nor did I know that, in order to work efficiently, air-cons should be recharged every two years. As well as enabling those inside the car to stay cool, calm and collected, a fully charged air con also burns less fuel; enabling motorists to save at the pump and reduce carbon emissions too.
To help motorists to keep their cool this summer, Kwik-Fit is offering a money back guarantee on its air-con recharge service - which costs only £44.95. Kwik-Fit says that if it cant show it has improved the efficiency of an air-con by at least 10%, motorists wont have to pay a penny.
This has to be worth a trip to your local branch but make sure its not on a sizzling hot day - just in case.
