Women's insurance expert Diamond has today launched a new benefit for new and existing customers. Comprehensive policyholders insured with Diamond, who are involved in an accident or are the victim of a theft, where car seats, booster seats, pushchairs or prams are damaged or stolen, will now be able to claim up to £300 to replace these items.
The new benefit, called ABC Cover - standing for Accessories, Buggies and Child seats - means that customers will be able to claim for the accessories involved in transporting their children around in addition to their normal level of cover.
What a jolly good idea as being involved in an accident or having your car broken into can be an incredibly stressful experience, but this is made even worse for families due to the paraphernalia they need to carry in their car. There are car seats, booster seats, pushchairs and prams, all of which can be damaged in an accident or targeted by thieves. Replacing them is a costly business. This soon all adds up
Diamond launched its new product after speaking with some of the 58,000 women with children under the age of 16 it insures. Within the £300 cover, parents are also able to claim for up to £50 of accessories such as changing bags or sunblinds, as these are all important to parents when their children are in the car.
I wonder if it covers yet another spilt bottle of milk on the upholstery?
