The term ‘hairdresser’s car’ has long been coined to describe sporty little run-arounds, but is this really the case?

A women’s car insurance specialist decided to find out what hairdressers really drive and can reveal that the most popular, and therefore ultimate ‘hairdresser’s car’, is the Vauxhall Tigra.

Oh yeah! This fits in well with the car review this week. Extra brownie points for me please!

Diamond looked at data from over 12,500 hairdressers and discovered Tigra is four times more likely to be driven by a hairdresser than everyone else. The next most popular for hairdressers are the Volkswagen Beetle, and Ford Ka, which are both more than two and a half times more popular with hairdressers.

It’s not surprising that the Tigra is so popular amongst hairdressers, as it’s stylish, modern, and the metal folding roof allows them to show off their latest cut!

But how do they keep all their hair neatly in place? I guess they must use a Chalmy that we featured recently from Saab.

The downside is, hairdressers and their cars have more chance of an accident than non-hairdressers, but what do you expect? No, not the dumb blonde syndrome but the constant fiddling with the car to keep it in place while the roof is down means less hands on the steering wheel!
