As wintry weather takes hold, more and more drivers are choosing to pay to park their cars while staying in the warm environment of their vehicles.

They’re using the RingGo mobile phone parking service. After parking, the driver makes a local phone call, giving the four digit car park location number, their vehicle make, colour and registration number, and their payment details.

When they call back, they are fast-tracked, as all this data is already stored. VAT receipts can be issued if required.

Thus the motorist has no need to queue in the rain at a parking machine, scrabble for change and abhor the thought of then returning to the car with an annoying sticky ticket. Parking attendants use handheld devices to check valid vehicles. It seems that most of us would rather pay to park from the climate-controlled comfort of our vehicles, rather than brave damp and cold conditions outside as one fan explained how vulnerable she sometimes feels in car parks when queuing for a ticket or walking to and from the car not once but twice.

Oh you poor little thing having to leave your nice warm car and walk to the machine. Gosh no wonder we are becoming a nation of obese if we cannot even be bothered to get out of our cars and walk to get parking.
