Research published today by leading motor insurer, The Co-operative Insurance, has discovered that luck behind the wheel could be written in the stars. Its survey of more than 700,000 motor claims, over a five-year period, showed a strong link between their Zodiac sign and the likelihood of being involved in a road accident.
Equal first place in the survey went to Sagittarius, the Archer and Scorpio, the Scorpion. Here, Scorpios’ determination, drive and ability to control extreme emotions, contrast sharply with Sagittarians’ famed for being one of the Zodiac’s most cheerful and even careless signs. Claims data, however, shows them to be the best drivers, with the fewest accidents of all the star signs.
Libra, the Scale came a close third, with Librans natural tendency towards balance and diplomacy making for a safe driving combination.
At the bottom end of the survey, however, came the Zodiac’s spring signs, with Taurus, Gemini and Aries taking last three places in descending order. Taurus, the Bull, may be warm-hearted and loving, but accident history suggests Taureans are the proverbial ‘bull in a china shop’ on the road. Meanwhile, Gemini, the eloquent Twins, could spend too much time talking and not enough with their eyes on the roads.
Aries, the Ram were the worst performing, responsible for nearly 9% of all road accidents. Here, Areans natural ‘me first’ attitudes could contribute to dangerous impulsiveness on the road.
Eh, excuse me but I am a Taurean and have never had an own fault accident. Does this mean my premiums will be increase because of my star sign?
