GM's UK Chevrolet division is hoping that the special edition model of the Captiva SUV will strike a cord amongst drivers looking for an early new year bargain.
Currently on sale, the Captiva Ikon is based on the already well equipped LS model, with such goodies as air conditioning, electric windows, remote locking, electrically-adjustable mirrors, a glass flip tailgate and top of the range CD/stereo with steering wheel mounted controls all coming as standard.
But going further on its drive for excellence, the Ikon also sees smart additional styling touches including 20-inch alloy wheels, side steps, privacy glass and chrome exhaust tailpipe. Chevrolet have priced the fitted extras in excess of £3,000,
The coupe d' gras though is the new special editions are also considerably cheaper than the current LS models on which they're based giving total savings of up to £4,400, when the extra kit is taken into account.
The 2.4 litre petrol-engined model is almost £1,000 cheaper than the petrol LS at £15,995 on-the-road, while the two-litre diesel version costs £16,995 - a saving of over £1,400 against the equivalent VCDi LS model.
Value for money in anyone's book!
