As we continue to tighten our purse strings, cautious when buying everyday necessities and the general financial outlook still bleak, Brits are developing new shopping skills.
Savoo.co.uk, a money-saving and voucher website, have revealed that 83% of women only buy luxury items if they have a discount voucher, with 70% of men also admitting they have used discount vouchers.
Brits don't shy away from a money saving opportunity as UK adults aged 25-34 are less reluctant to use discounts with 88% revealing that they prefer to use them.
When asked about cosmetic surgery and saving money, 3% of respondents would use a discount for a form of plastic surgery, suggesting that people aren't willing to go under the knife, even if they can get it at a cheaper price.
Although we like to spoil ourselves every now and again, even if we have used a discount voucher to help us get it, Brits still like a good bargain on food and drink. 81% of adults will use a voucher code if it means saving that little bit of money.
Not only are more and more people opting for the vouchers, but 80% of UK adults have never felt embarrassed about using a series of coupons at the checkout in a supermarket, which is a huge rise compared to two years ago when only 40% felt comfortable using them.
Glasgow lead the way in the grocery money-saving with the average adult saving over £10 a week by using coupons and vouchers.
