The statistics from new mobile company GiffGaff has found that 70% of us enjoy finding ways to supplement incomes and being entrepreneurial, and that 67% of Brits want to be their own boss.

Commenting on the research, psychologist Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic says:  “I think Brits have always been entrepreneurial but this time we are more forced to exercise this because of the recession….people have more time and are forced to come up with ideas”

The results show that the internet has opened doors for those with entrepreneurial instincts. 44% of Brits are supplementing their income by selling goods online, with sites such as ebay proving to be very popular.

We are also being more demanding on companies when it comes to saving money, with 61% wanting more loyalty incentives from brands and 81% would like a say in how brands are run.

This video takes a closer look at the research and also at ways you can make – and save – money.
