If your wardrobe is full to bursting- it might be telling you that it’s time to relieve it of some of the clothing clutter. If you don’t know what to keep, what to give away and what to throw- here are some helpful pointers.
Anything you haven’t worn in a year
Unless it’s a Christmas jumper- you clearly don’t like it enough to put on your body so let someone else enjoy wearing it- or sell it and make some of the money back you originally spent on the item.
Anything that is damaged
Have you got holy socks? Frayed pants? T- shirts with stains on them? It’s time to let go- if you haven’t fixed the problem by now- be honest with yourself- you probably wont ever get around to it.
Anything that doesn’t fit
If it’s too big- that is not an incentive to put on weight to make it snug. If it’s too small you are only going to open your wardrobe and be disheartened. Only keep things that fit and make you feel good.
Odd socks
I’m sorry to tell you this but their partner has left them and is never coming back. Put them out of their misery and stop giving them the hope that they are going to be half of a whole again.
Anything you have to excess
If you have 20 handbags, 15 pairs of leggings or 50 pairs of shoes- newsflash- you don’t need that many! You CAN cope and ARE coping with less than that number so pare them down.
Anything you hate but paid good money for
If there are items that make you feel guilty because you paid an exorbitant amount of money for them but don’t actually like- sell them on and make something back. It’s not going to be what you paid but surely it’s better than nothing at all while it hangs unworn in your wardrobe?
Anything that’s uncomfortable
If it hurts, why do you have it? Don’t keep shoes that give you blisters, jeans that cut you in two or bras that dig in. Wear and keep things that make you feel comfortable so you can enjoy every moment while you wear them rather than focusing on the pain.
