The latest Kate Moss for Topshop collection has launched and after a four-year hiatus of course there was going to be a big build-up for the pieces – but will you be buying anything from the selection?
The model previously worked with the high street giant on a collection that started in 2007 and it all started off well with people queuing for hours before to get their hands on the coveted pieces, but now this collection seems to be a re-run of pieces we’ve seen previously, will anyone be rushing to buy it?
Well, the answer seems yes, as items have already sold out on Net-A-Porter who are selling a selection of the collection, and a very special piece too. A £600 hand-beaded mini dress that has already sold out.
But we can’t seem to shake the feeling that this collection is something that we’ve seen before, and whilst we understand it’s supposed to be a way for us to dress a little more like Kate Moss it all seems a little boring.
Having previously worked with Topshop, this new collection is a re-run of the standout pieces we’ve seen previously, the lemon one-shouldered dress (which happens to be our favourite item), the silver star print on navy material, embellished shorts and of course fringe details a plenty.
We have to whole-heartedly agree with Metro Fashion Writer, Alison Lynch and say that this latest collection is something that we’ll be forgoing – and the high price tag for the high street is definitely something that contributes to that.
