Get a fashion fix this weekend

Friday is finally here and we here at the FemaleFirst office couldn't be happier! So to mark this momentums occasion in your daily lives, we're launching a fashion guide for all things stylish and chic this weekend.

With the recession really starting to impact on our every day lives, knowing how to work the latest styles, without spending a fortune is essential.

Last week we looked at making your money go further with customising your old clothes, bagging some smart sale bargains and catching up at what was hot and not at Paris Couture Week.

This week we're looking at preparation for Valentine's Day, which is only 8 days away girls! Now, while it's down to the boyfriend/fiance/husband to be all romantic and expensive with the gestures, you need to look your best too.

Head to the high-street to check out the pre-Valentine Day sales which are now in full swing. While in previous years, prices may have reached sky high proportions, this year they are desperate for your custom, so many big names are offering discounts or offers on some sexy goodies.

Lingerie in particular will be a smart purchase for next weekend, as will a new pair of super high-heels as these are also priced quite low at the moment.

While you're shopping for your Valentine's Day surprise, keep an eye out for anything floral, as spring is almost officially here and the new pansy and ditzy prints have now hit the high-street.

Be smart with what you buy though and make sure you can wear it with many different things, for lots of different occasions. If you need any help with this, then check out our One Key Fashion Item: Three Ways To Wear It feature.

Lastly, if you're feeling a bit cultural this weekend, Chester museum are housing a FemaleForm and dress shape exhibition, which features a range of styles form the 1850s to the 2000s.
