Winter weddings are becoming more and more popular each year, but the puzzle remains- what do you wear that's stylish, chic and above all- warm?
Summer is a time for bright colours, fake tan and ridiculous headwear, but the winter months poses an altogether different set of style rules.
Wearing a summer dress in the middle of winter is not exactly an option, unless of course you want to get pneumonia.
Well, fear not! because FemaleFirst have come to the rescue with our guide on looking good for a winter wedding...
Tip 1: Ditch The Mini
Firstly, stay clear of bum-skimming mini-skirts and sky-scrapper heels around this time of year, or you are likely to go flying on the icy ground. Instead opt for a classic mid-length option, or even full-length gown and team with some low to mid heels. It's a common misconception that low heels are un sexy, but it all depends on what you wear them with. If you're short then stick with a mid-length dress and 2inch heels, or if you are tall then a long gown will suit you best teamed with kitten heels.

Tip 2: Wrap It Up
Wraps and capes have never been more stylish, so why not incorporate this into your wedding outfit. They look great worn over any dress style you choose and what's more, it's more more chic than wearing your big snuggly coat in church. That said, if you find you do want to wear a coat to a wedding, then this is acceptable too, especially with all the stylish trench, dolly and swing coats that are starting to appear on the high-street.

Tip 3: Arm Cover Up
Don't be afraid to opt for a dress with sleeves this winter, as they can be just as smart and stylish as the party gowns out there. There's also the benefit of keeping your arms warm all day and night without the aid of a coat. We're loving this stunning kimono print offering from Principles and the cute harlequin design print from Oli.

Tip 4: Bin Boring Black
There are plenty of other options out there to choose from, so why not get inspired by this season's bright colours. Pink, green, blue and yellow tones are big news this winter and teamed with the right minimal accessories, will make your outfit stand out from the crowd.

Tip 5: Work the Winter Florals
Florals aren't just for spring, they can look great in winter too. But if you're unsure of wearing bright florals to a winter wedding, then just incorporate it subtly into your outfit. We've picked this great dress from Debenhams, who have weaved corsage flowers into the bust part of the dress and this paisley floral offering from Lipsy.
