With fashionistas such as Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Sarah Jessica Parker championing the Ugg boot, it was only a matter of time before men got in on the act too.
Jason Donovan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Timberlake and Brad Pitt are supposedly fans of the sheep-lined booties, which have become one of the must-have boots of the season yet again.
Weirdly enough, if they did take off then this wouldn't be the first time when men have worn this type of boot. Back in the 1970s, Australian surfers used them when emerging from the surfing sea, to keep their feet warm. Bless!
Uggs are said to be an abbreviation of Ugly, but with the boots continuing to top most-wanted lists and a host of new celebrities (including footballers) endorsing the product, maybe its time it shook off that unflattering label.
Although this is quite an odd trend for men, it could be worse. Could you imagine say, tights for men?! Oh hang on a tick, we covered that a few weeks ago, and that is indeed an option now. Is is just us or is it becoming increasingly hard to tell if men are in fact morphing into women?
They use our hair and face products, have facials, manicures and waxing appointments just like us, and they also now consider ghds compulsory.
What's next? underwear that holds in beer bellies? or shoes that have a built in high heel for men to look taller? And then there's the make-up issue which is now becoming ridiculously popular with men on a night out.
Zac Efron paraded down the red carpet for his High School Musical 3 premiere, wearing what appeared to be extreme amounts of foundation and mascara. The guy is undoubtedly a teenage pin-up but he is 21 after all, and so we're sure men in some circles may actively embrace Zac's example and head to the nearest make-up counter.
Learning how to put on make-up is a painstaking process, that most of us got out of our systems during our teen years. Can you imagine having to teach your boyfriend how to put on concealer and mascara every morning? Nope, thought not. But maybe we're a tad guilty for letting them think it's ok in the first place to do some of this stuff.
We do nick their baggy jeans and boxers on occasion, but it's not like we use their hair gel or deodorant when we have none to hand. So no, men are undoubtedly curious, apart from anything else about the female beauty regime and of course our clothes.
The scary thing is, if celebs continue this Ugg trend and that does indeed filter onto your boyfriend's Christmas list, then who knows what will be next.... dresses for men anyone?
