Summer is here (apparently) and the sun is shining (between the downpours) so a pair of sunglasses is a must-have for every handbag.
With so many styles out there it can be hard to choose the right one for you so Female First show you how to make the most of your glowing summer face by choosing the right shades.
There are five basic face shapes so all you need to do is establish which one best describes you and follow the tips we've put together.
Oval: This is the shape best suited to sunglasses wearing and you lucky ovals can wear pretty much any style you fancy. So don't be shy to go all Hollywood with some super cool oversized frames for that true glamorous look.
Square: Squares have quite wide cheekbones and strong jaw lines so you will want to draw attention inwards towards your eyes and detract away from the wideness of the face. The best styles for doing this are smaller oval shape frames or narrow square shades.
Round: Round faces have no definite structure with cheek bones and jaw lines blending into the rest of the face shape. Therefore a more defined shape can be created by choosing frames with straight lines. The retro retangular look works brilliantly for all you round girls.
Heart: Heart shaped faces have a small chin that goes to a slight point. They look best in glasses with thin frames that don't draw too much attention to the top of the head- making the chin look more pointy. Aviators are perfect for hearts and we all love the Ray Ban Top Gun look- timeless cool!
Thin: Those with a small narrow face can find that sunglasses often look too big for their head. The best way to balance out a thin face is to create more width to the face by adding extra detail to the top of the frames. Sunglasses that extend out slightly at the top look great on thin faces. Wayfarer styles are great for adding extra shape and width to a thin face.
Don't panic if you think face is a mixture of more than one face shape just experiment with the frames suggested and find a style that suits you best. Don't forget your going to be wearing your new shades all summer long (with a bit of luck) so you can afford to be a bit fussy.
