So here we have the fashion tips on how to dress for a new body shape and for practical yet stylish clothes.

The patterned top

Great for: Hiding baby sick and spillages

Rather than wearing the same old comfy pyjamas around the house, pop on a patterned top with your jeans for an instant fashion boost. Wear over a breast feeding vest to easily pop your baby underneath for a feed – and what’s more the loose fabrics will make you feel really comfortable whilst hiding a multitude of mishaps, including baby sick and stains.

The shirt dress

Great for: Breastfeeding – and as it’s just one throw on item, being stylish couldn’t be easier

The denim shirt dress should be a staple in any new mum’s wardrobe. It can feel overwhelming having lots of guests visit when you’re sleep deprived and not quite feeling yourself, and this is thr perfect quick fix to throw on at a moment’s notice and still look great. As well as looking fabulous, a shirt dress is front opening, so perfect for breast feeding, and has the added bonus of being really comfy.

The structured mac

Great for: Walks in the park and the definitive pram glam

Coats with a tailored shoulder and slim sleeves are an easy win for a chic daytime look. They are very flattering, giving your shape structure and highlighting your best bits. Pair with your favourite jeans for an effortlessly smart but casual outfit.

The tube skirt and flowing top

Great for: Effortless glamour

A tube skirt with top will be as comfy as your favourite pyjamas, whilst making you look and feel great, perfect for daytime chic. Pair with a loose-fitting top to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible.

The crossover top with patterned trousers

Great for: Breastfeeding – and adding variety beyond maternity jeans

A crossover top is incredibly chic but also brilliants for breastfeeding – what’s more it offers an alternative to shirts, which are the normal go-to in the first few months. Maternity jeans can also get a bit monotonous after 10 months; so pair this with patterned trousers, which look great with Converse or ballet flats and will give you’re a whole glam new look.

The loose dress and structured jacket

Great for: Figure definition

Wearing a slightly loose dress will make you feel really comfortable and at ease. Match with a structured jacket to make the most of your shape and define the shoulders this will highlight a pleasing silhouette, perfect for a day or evening occasion.

The patterned scarf

Great for: Your go-to, easy-to-wear accessory

Although you may think that block colours will ensure all eyes are on you, they are actually fantastically complementary. Pair with a pattered scarf for a chic look that will hide stains (which are bound to end up around your neck just as you leave the house).

The trapeze dress

Great for: Celebrating your first night out of the house

Don’t dread the thought of dressing up and going out – the trapeze dress has a slightly triangular shape and structure, giving you plenty of room whilst offering a deceptive and flattering look. This is the perfect dress for any formal occasion, when you have left your little one with an unsuspecting family member.

The wrap dress

Great for: Glamour and comfort all in one

Silky fabrics are great when your skin feels delicate and sensitive and should be the perfect treat item for your new wardrobe. Pick a patterned dress to hide spills and choose a wrap style for ease when breastfeeding.
