Nicky Hambleton-Jones

Nicky Hambleton-Jones is a style guru for the average lady; she's honest, fun and makes women feel good about their shape, figure and style.

We spoke to her last week about her own personal style and she gave FemaleFirst the rundown on what's hot for Spring and Summer next year.

Washed out Nautical

Blue is set to be a huge colour for next year and with that will come the 'washed out' nautical look. Primary blue and azul will be the base of the colour palette, and added to that will be a toned down red colour- think PJ stripes rather than crisp blues and reds.

Orange And Fuchsia Clash

Orange and fuchsia combinations are going to be really big in the Summer, so make preparations now by experimenting with clashing colours. Bright colours in general are huge news for the summer period, and we predict that yellow will also be one of the hot colours of the season.

Sequins

There will be lots of sequins around in the summer, which is unusual because we usually see sequins in the autumn, or more specifically in the party season. However, this year big and bold sequins combined with embellishments are going to be everywhere!

Fringing

We forecasted this as a trend a while ago after Vivienne Westwood made it a focal point of her show during London fashion week, and now it seems that Nicky agrees. Fringing will be seen on jackets, skirts, tops and also the 1920s flapper dress will also make an appearance as part of this trend.

Florals

In the words of Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada: "Florals, in spring? hardly groundbreaking" However, this is the season for tiered, clashing, tribal, geometric and fresh florals all rolled in to one. In other words, more is more for next season so be prepared to pile on the layers and go.
