It's an interesting concept, renting an outfit instead of buying it, but would we actually want to give that a go, or are we still a bit snobby about anything like that?

Well, our initial response is no, because this recession has made us reconsider our spending on a lot of things, and unfortunately this has impacted on our clothes shopping too.

We no longer spend, spend, spend like we used to, and what's more sales bargains can no longer make us go wild with delight. The country is changing and that means we have to revaluate our wardrobe and expenditure a tad too.

Clothes swapping, charity shopping and recycling have all seen a boom in the past six months, as people try and make-do with what they've got and try and stay on top of the ever-changing fashion trends.

In the UK there have been quite a few business to come out of this economic doom with a new attitude to fashion, and this renting concept is just the tip of the iceberg.

In a world where you may no longer be able to afford those latest Jimmy Choos or Chanel handbag, this renting frenzy really becomes something of a commodity, especially if like us, you need a weekly fashion fix.

Renting Diane Von Furstenberg or Paul Smith designer togs from around £40 for two days may serve a special purpose for an event or function, where you have to look your best, but can by no means afford a new outfit.

Some would argue, however that £40 isn't exactly a cheap option in the first place, but if you're a label junkie who has had their supply cut off, this would seem a worthy investment.

It all comes back to wearing something second hand though, and where once we may have turned our nose up at it, we have now rediscovered some great finds at Oxfam or Help The Aged, thanks to the recession forcing us to take a closer look at what's around us.

The renting concept first came to our attention in Sex and The City: The Movie. Odd, we know but we just seem to remember things from this movie and Jennifer Hudson's borrow-happy character has stuck with us a bit.

In New York you could rent the latest designer 'it' bags for a week at a time, never buying but always having the most fashionable bag on your arm to accompany your stylish look.

We've got no idea is that is actually an option in the Big Apple, but heck we'd risk a flight out there just to see- Louis Vuitton for $50 a week, book us out there now!
