Dirty Dancing Pumps

Dirty Dancing Pumps

Baby first brought us cute little white pumps back in the 80s and now it seems we all want to do a bit of Dity Dancing this summer as plimsoles shimmy their way back onto the high street.

White lace up pumps were the trademark of the innocent Frances 'Baby' Houseman before sexy Johnny Castle got his hands around her waist so if you want to feel all sweet and virginal this summer then grab a pair of simple white plimsoles and get ready for some holiday romancing.

White lace up, River Island, £12.99. Temp lace ups, Topshop, £15. White/navy lace up, Miss Selfridge, £15

This style looks great with this summer's naval look and is great for dressing down a summer dress for a day time look. Alternatiely you can team them with denim hot pants and a stripey tee for a laid back take on the navy trend.

You don't have to just stick to white pumps- there are plenty of bright coloured plimsoles out there to match any outfit.

Gold metalic, Miss Selfridge, £18. Grey lace up, River Island, £12.99. Babycham Stripey lace up, drshoes.co.uk, £19.99.

Why not bring this fab 80s look bang up to date with an artistic touch. There are some great graffiti and floral print pumps on the high street to add some fun to any outfit.
