The Palmer//Harding show once again focuses on the wardrobe staple the cotton white shirt, and once again the designers have executed it perfectly for AW14.
For next season the designers, Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding, have found inspiration in the simplicity of paper, allowing its linear forms and flat planes to lead the direction of their new womenswear collection.
The immersive “paper” inspired collection is influenced by the work of Richard Serra, a famous American minimalist sculptor and video artist, who helped to inform the aesthetic choices in design.
Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding met at Central Saint Martins, and went on to form palmer//harding, a men’s and women’s designer label, focused on bringing directional design to a traditionally neglected garment in a wardrobe, the white cotton shirt.
The ‘Pioneers of Shirting’, secured COTTON USA’s coveted sponsorship for their Autumn/Winter 2014 presentation at London Fashion Week. The sponsorship supports rising stars of the fashion industry, fostering their careers and providing a valuable boost to their profiles as they flourish into future fashion trend setters.
Levi Palmer and Matthew Harding’s creativity has opened many doors in the industry for them, with their collections gracing the pages of American and British Vogue, and once again this year showcased at London Fashion Week.
