Wearing pink is supposedly psychologically proven to make you feel happier and prettier in your life, but can a colour really have that much affect on your day?
Well, it certainly will have an impact on your wardrobe as this season is all about bright colours, in particular cerise and fuchsia- the brightest pinks going.
Pink is supposedly the colour of confidence, fun and can also attract feelings of love and warmth from others around them. Well, if you've seen the film Legally Blonde, you'd probably be inclined to believe that, seeing as Elle Woods is probably the most giddy and happy person going.
Celebrities also seem to love the colour, with Paris Hilton, Lily Allen, Alexa Chung and Agyness Deyn all favouring pink of late, and what's more, going for different shades and styles too.
Dark haired people tend to suit more vibrant colours, whilst fairer haired ladies look best in baby and soft pinks. This rule has already been broken by Agyness who rocked a vibrant pink jacket for a New Look campaign and looked fab, however her latest outing in a baby pink dress failed to impress.
So maybe it depends on your mood what colour pink you go for, and not necessarily your hair colour. It's certainly true that feelings and expressions of happiness use the colour pink in the headline, however.
For example, 'tickled pink' and 'feeling in the pink' are associated with fun, happiness and laughter, and don't forget Asda bases their Breast Cancer Campaign around the slogan, 'Tickled Pink' each year and sells a range of pink goods to coincide with it.
There is perhaps some truth in pink being associated with making you feel happy, as when Lily Allen suffered her tragic miscarriage last year, she was spotted in pink frocks, jumpsuits and tops, not to mention dying her hair a vibrant shade of pink.
Paris Hilton has also spoken of her love for bright colours, decalring them as the only way to beat the recession. Despite this being a fairly odd comment from someone as rich as she is, she does have a slight point.
So tomorrow morning when you learn of more doom and gloom hitting Britain, reach inside your wardrobe and pull out the brightest pink thing you own, it may not change much, but it could make you feel a whole lot happier for the day.
Let us know if it makes even the tiniest bit of difference to your day, or whether you think there's no truth at all in this pink theory...
