Piers Atkinson’s Spring/Summer 15 collection encapsulates everything we expect to see in those seasons, with flowers the main focal point for the beautiful pieces.
Following on from last season’s jet-setting theme of fame and fortune this season sees Atkinson’s muse mellowed by her success, enjoying the fruits of her labour. She has the luxury of time to allow herself to drift off down the garden, to comtemplate the many meanings of life and to give a little back to the world that created her.
Wide-brimmed sun hats, festooned with the blooms from the herbaceous border, keep off the glare of the midday sun, while cane visors and a boater are perfect for the sporty days of spring.
Even the baseball caps, decorated with bouquets reflect her outdoors-y nature.
Natural Straw and Old Ivory create the lightest hues, accented by Terracota, Magic Mushroom and Sage Green. Flashes of colour dot the collection throughoutl all the brights of an English cottage cottagel Poppy Red, Cornflower Blue, Lilac, Lavender and Sunflower Yellows mix up with the ever-present multitude of a garden’s greens.
This collection, retaining Atkinson’s signature sense of humour, is a top-tip for an outing at Ascot, a must at the society wedding garden reception, a spin on the dance floor, or for simple, dressed-to-thrill style.
