It was in 1993 that we all decided it was cool to put pieces of metal through every part of our body we could- piercings were everywhere.
Ear piercing just wasn't enough anymore as pushed boundaries with belly button rings, eyebrow bars and metal balls in our tongues.
This was the same year that a virtually unknown Alicia Silverstone showed off her belly button ring in Aerosmith's Cryin' video and soon American teens all wanted the rebellious teenager look.
Piercings stuck around for a while and even towards the end of the decade everyone wanted their belly or even their nipples pierced but now as us 90s kids are growing up we're being forced to remove our statements of rebellion and get sensible office jobs.
